Carova Rentals Policies
Normal check in time is 5pm. If you get into town early please leave us your cell phone number. If the house is ready early, we are happy to get you checked in early. In the meanwhile, plan to enjoy the beach by bringing a separate bag with your beach attire. While we request that you do not park in the driveway of the house, you are welcome to use the outside shower to change.
Check out is 11am. We ask that you leave the house “broom clean,” take out the trash, wash all dishes and make sure all doors and windows are locked. Failure to do so will result in loss of repeat guest discounts.
When you arrive to your house, there will be a “starter set” of toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, dish soap, and a couple of garbage bags. This is designed to get you through the first night and you will need to provide these items for the rest of your stay.
What to Bring
In addition to your personal belongings, you should bring:
Food and beverages
Spices and condiments
Drinking water—although our water is safe to drink, it generally has an unpalatable taste and most folks prefer to drink bottled water.
Special items for beach driving—tire pressure gauge, flashlight, tow rope, fire extinguisher, and shovel
If you are bringing a dog, please bring dog towels and bowls.
All bed linens and bath towels are provided from April 1st through October 15th in 2017 . The beds will be made when you arrive and there will be one set of towels for every person the house accommodates.
Four and five night stays are available all year. In the peak seasons these short stays cannot be booked until two weeks prior to the arrival date. More flexibility is allowed in the off season months.
Extended stays of three or more weeks are available at discounted rates. Please call or email for a quote.
No security deposits are required. Included in the accommodations total is an amount which covers you for up to $500 in accidental damages. You will still be responsible the cost of repair or replacement for any intentional damages.
We strongly believe in covering your investment and have included travel insurance through Travel Guard. This will protect you against the common things we find preventing guests from arriving on their scheduled trip, such as sickness, weather, and job loss. The protection will continue for you while you are on your trip and offer primary medical insurance, baggage delay, and an invaluable 24-hour customer service line for any emergency or concierge needs while you are traveling. We encourage you to review the information on the All Seasons Travel Plan and contact us to have this valuable protection added to your reservation.
At the end of your stay, any unopened packages of food left behind will be donated to needy families. Please dispose of any opened food products.
To support local conservation efforts, Carova Rentals will donate $1.00 from every reservation to the a non-profit such as N.E.S.T, OBX Dolphins, and other similar agencies.
